1. Authority (Masterclasses):
1.1. The Masterclass in the management, analysis, and avoidance of delay
and disruption in construction contracts (hereinafter referred
to as 'the Masterclass' and referring to either the singular
or the plural day or days) are approved by the Law Society for
provision of CPD.
1.2. A certificate of attendance will be provided to each delegate. Neither
the certificate or the Masterclass carry any academic authority, nor do they
provide any qualification in the subjects discussed at 'the Masterclass', or
authority for the delegate to teach or practice in any of the subjects discussed.
1.3. Neither Hill International (UK) Limited nor Englemere Limited and the
Chartered Institute of Building are responsible for anything said or produced
by any of the speakers at the Masterclass.
2. The Masterclass booking fee and cancellation:
2.1. The Masterclass booking fee, which must be paid in full before a place
can be confirmed, is non-refundable, subject to the following conditions:
2.1.1. Once a place on the Masterclass is booked, it will not be possible to
obtain a refund unless the course is fully booked (ie all places are sold)
and a replacement can be found. Under these circumstances, a refund will be
made, less an administrative charge as advertised on the current brochure.
2.1.2. In the unlikely event of cancellation of the course, due to circumstances
within the control of Hill International (UK) Ltd, Englemere Limited or the
CIOB, a full refund of the course fee will be provided.
2.2 Taxes - all courses may be subject to local taxation, which will be applied to the rate advertised on the brochure where applicable.
3. The Masterclass Programme:
3.1. We reserve the right to alter or change the programme
at any time, and may replace speakers if necessary due to such
circumstances as illness or sudden unforeseen unavailability.
4. Delegate Packs and Conference Notes:
4.1. Delegate conference notes, where supplied, are strictly for use by the
delegate or purchaser only.
4.2. The notes are a guide only, and are not an authoritative or exhaustive
review of recent developments
4.3. The notes must not be relied on as giving definitive advice and are
intended to summarise the issues covered.
5. Books and Publication orders:
5.1. Where ordered, any books or publications such as 'Delay and Disruption
in Construction Contracts' or Supplements to the Standard Forms of Contract,
will normally be dispatched by Royal Mail special delivery within four days
of receipt of payment
5.2. Publications are non-refundable, and payment must be received before
dispatch will occur.
5.3. No refunds or exchanges are available on purchases of the book where
receipt can be proved to have occurred.
5.4. Delivery of the book to an overseas address outside the UK will incur
a surcharge to cover insurance and postage.
6. The SCL Delay and Disruption Protocol
6.1. The SCL Delay and Disruption protocol may be included as part of the cost
of the Masterclasses, and will be provided to delegates at the Masterclass.
6.2. Only one copy of the SCL protocol will be issued to each delegate and
no replacements will be available.
6.3. The Masterclass is not organised by or connected with the work of the
SCL, and materials are provided to delegates with their permission.
7. Disputes:
7.1. Any disputes or claims arising from a booking or order made electronically
or otherwise shall be settled by the English courts and English legal processes,
applying the law as appropriate in England at the time of booking.
7.2. The information provided electronically through websites is correct
at the time of publishing, but may be subject to change and alteration. Neither
Hill International (UK) Ltd, its partners Englemere Ltd, or the Chartered Institute of Building shall be responsible for any such
omission or necessary alteration.
8. Data Protection:
8.1. Information relating to this Masterclass may be shared between the organising
parties listed above.
8.2. Delegate details will not be passed to any third party other than the
speakers and fellow delegates who will receive a delegate list containing
names, company names, and company towns.
8.3. Delegates who wish their details to remain strictly confidential should
tick the appropriate box on the booking form or make this clear in their
reservation online.
